SUMMARY

Mortenson is currently seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will align HR strategies with business goals, ensuring the organization is prepared to meet future needs. As part of our continued growth, this new position will support multiple businesses, working closely with leadership to drive key talent and people-focused initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Be the focal point for the deployment of core HR processes such as compensation planning, performance reviews, and other HR initiatives with assigned businesses.
  • Coach and counsel team members and managers.
  • Support the team with various special projects such as process simplification, policy rollouts, or leading high-performing team sessions.
  • Ability to effectively build strong relationships with business leaders.
  • Ability to navigate situations and maintain constructive working relationships with people at all levels of the organization (both inside and outside the company).
  • Be a team player with a positive and professional attitude and strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to drive results in a fast-moving and constantly changing environment.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills - able to prepare and analyze HR reports, translate data into leader recommendations to take appropriate action.
  • Ability to lead and manage projects independently.



QUALIFICATIONS



  • Minimum of five years of Human Resources experience, with knowledge including but not limited to, Talent Management, and Compensation.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resource management or related field preferred but not required.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with business leaders.
  • Skilled at navigating complex situations and fostering positive working relationships with individuals at all levels, both within and outside the organization.
  • Ability to collaborate with and influence senior leaders to inform and guide their decision-making processes
  • Demonstrates a team-oriented approach with a positive, professional attitude and exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities, with the capacity to prepare and interpret HR data, translating insights into actionable recommendations for leadership.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

The base pay range for this role is $83,700 - $125,600. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%).

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
