Description

This is a paid internship, range of $22/hr - $39/hr (depending on role and qualifications) for those currently pursuing undergraduate degrees and higher rates for those currently pursuing graduate level degrees.

Tentative 2025 Internship Dates:



  • Semester students: May 19th to July 25th
  • Quarter students: June 16th to August 22nd


DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW

Sound Transit's FBA (Finance, Business and Administration) department, specifically the Internal Applications Team oversees technology used by ST Staff to improve knowledge retention, analytical decision making, and create efficiencies through automated processes and integrations. The IT Systems Analyst intern will have an opportunity to be a part of the team that oversees internal systems such as HR Information Systems and ERP software and gain valuable experience in a highly sought after field.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.

JOB DUTIES:



  • Assist in the administration, maintenance, and support of HR systems, such as UKG and Cornerstone LMS.
  • Conduct data analysis to identify trends, ensure data accuracy, and generate reports.
  • Collaborate with HR, Payroll, and IT teams to optimize system performance and user experience.
  • Document system workflows, configurations, and enhancements.
  • Utilize Agile Scrum methodologies to prioritize and track work.
  • Provide first-level support for system-related inquiries and troubleshoot issues.
  • Participate in system testing for upgrades, new features and process improvements.
  • Research and recommend tools or features to enhance system functionality.
  • Assist with implementation of our company re-organization.
  • Assist with implementation of new benefits modules, Benefits Administration.


POTENTIAL PROJECTS:



  • Utilize Agile Scrum methodologies to prioritize and track work.
  • Assist in the implementation or migration of systems.
  • Developing user-friendly dashboards for workforce metrics and analytics.
  • Conduct an audit of data for accuracy and completeness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Support system integration efforts between platforms and other business tools.
  • Create training materials or user guides for system features.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants must be a current college student in good academic standing, enrolled in an accredited associate, bachelor's or graduate degree program in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or other technical discipline or relevant two-year certificate.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS:



  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Work, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Willingness to adapt to company driven documentation standards.

  • Work is performed in a standard office environment.
