ISO New England is the not-for-profit, independent system operator responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable flow of electricity in our region and planning for the future of the electric grid. We are at the forefront of New England's ongoing transition to clean energy. This position is the initial point of contact for transmission outages on New England's power grid. Receiving and reviewing transmission outage applications and related information by interfacing with the ISO New England Outage Coordinators, Local Control Centers, adjacent Control Areas and the Transmission Owners, typically 14 to 45 days prior to their requested start date. The Intermediate Outage Coordinator is responsible for processing these requests in accordance with OP3, M/LCC7, and related SOPs. They will receive and disseminate updated transmission outage information to the appropriate internal personnel as needed. In addition to conducting transmission outage studies, the Intermediate Outage Coordinator is responsible for other assigned duties within the Outage Coordination group which includes but is not limited to evaluating transmission outages transitioning from the Long Term into the Short Term realm, testing and updating Outage Coordination applications and tools (GRT, TTC calculator, TTCU, etc.), performing internal and external training, and maintaining the Intermediate Outage Coordination user guide. This role will support transmission project meetings, and TARA functions. This role will be required to qualify as a rotational Transmission Outage Coordinator and depending on responsibilities designated by the supervisor, maintain proficiency for the D1 role, assist Outage Coordination Management with aligning the Outage Coordination process, and other duties as needed.
