The American Family Insurance Legal Department is seeking an experienced Coverage Counsel who has demonstrated the ability to multi-task, work independently and in team settings, and deliver results. You will provide legal support for the Claims departments at the American Family companies. You will work on insurance coverage opinions, attend and provide guidance at roundtables and collaborate on best practices claims topics. You will also retain outside counsel on coverage litigation and monitor declaratory judgment actions. The ideal candidate will assist in the continuous improvement and implementation of the legal department strategies and promote an organizational culture that encourages ethical conduct and a commitment to compliance with applicable laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures. You will report to the Senior Manager, Legal.
In this primarily field-based role, you will spend 80% of your time (4+ days per week) working in the field, directly interacting with customers, Agents, Agency Staff, etc. On occasion you may be asked to travel to an office location for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, trainings, and culture events. Previous Coverage Experience in Georgia, Minnesota, Ilinois or Colorado strongly desired. #LI-Remote Position Compensation Range: $111,000.00 - $190,000.00Pay Rate Type: SalaryCompensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location.
