A Brief Overview
The UH Rainbow Center for Child Health & Policy (CCHP) Special Projects Coordinator provides general assistance in development, implementation, evaluation, and dissemination of outreach, engagement, and advocacy initiatives. This position involves responsibility for program planning and operations, and the ability to carry out programs independently as well as in collaboration with designated individuals and organizations. The Special Projects Coordinator may be assigned to different programs, tasks, or funding streams as required to best advance the mission of CCHP and UH Rainbow Babies & Children's system as a whole. Essential duties include: What You Will Do
- Actively participate as a member of CCHP, including objective insight and contributions to a variety of policy, evaluation, and research initiatives.
- Plan, organize, and conduct special projects that may include: outreach to external partner organizations, recruitment, schedule coordination, development and delivery of presentations, program reporting (to include data collection and summaries), and proactive efforts to establish/maintain collaborative relationships with organizational/community partners and other advisory participants.
- Lead programs and projects with guidance and support from CCHP and system-level leaders.
- Attend, actively participate, and/or lead as appropriate various CCHP/project/agency meetings.
- Demonstrate an ability to work independently and conscientiously with minimum oversight.
- Make meaningful contributions to program planning and development teams.
- Assist with identification of funding prospects, proposal planning, and dissemination of findings.
- Provide cross coverage within the department as needed such as administrative and clerical functions, for normal as well as specific operations (including tasks such as material preparation, iProcurement ordering, receipt and invoice approval for payment by A/P, iExpense reports, and administrative/general support (to include training/mentoring new employees to complete these tasks).
- Integrate students, volunteers, and assigned employees to actively engage with and contribute to various special projects.

- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
