Pantry Coordinator Kern Community College District Salary: $22.00 Hourly Job Type: Full Time Job Number: FY24-2501143 Location: Bakersfield, CA Department: Student Life Basic Function This is a professional expert, short term temporary opportunity. Representative Duties Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Manage the distribution of food and supplies, ensuring equitable access across campuses. Operate equipment such as pallet jacks or hand trucks. Organize and execute deliveries of food and supplies to satellite campuses. Track inventory levels and assist with the order of supplies as needed. Ensure pantry operations meet food safety and hygiene standards across all sites. Maintain accurate records of donations, distributions, and expenditures. Promote awareness of pantry services through campus events and communications across all campuses. Build relationships with community organizations, food banks, and donors to secure additional resources. Recruit and train student and community volunteers at all pantry locations. Assist with preparing regular reports on usage trends, inventory levels, and program outcomes. Participate in professional development opportunities. Minimum Qualifications Any combination equivalent to: High school diploma or GED Desirable Qualifications: Valid California Driver's License Certification in food safety (e.g., ServSafe or equivalent). Familiarity with food pantry operations or similar programs is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and/or inventory management software. Associate's degree social work, public administration, or a related field Working Conditions: Requires occasional lifting of up to 80 lbs. Frequent travel between campuses within the district. Frequent food pickups (warehouse, shopping trips, etc.) and food distributions to various campus locations May involve evening or weekend hours for special events or operations.
