Manager - Business Office

Turning Point is seeking an experienced professional for our full-time Business Office Manager position. The Business Office Manager supports the delivery of quality services and the financial goals and objectives of the organization through effective day-to-day management of financial data, admission and data processing procedures, and collections.

  • Oversees and directs the collections and data processing functions; manages in-house collection efforts to meet organization's business goals & corporate established collection and net days in accounts receivable goals.
  • Effectively initiates resolution of account problems without supervision; Identifies trends with patient account issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintains effective communication and supportive working relationship with business office staff, supervisor, other departments, and insurance companies.
  • Implements procedures for filing reimbursement claims and follow up.
  • Maintains proper documentation with regard to cash receipts, revenue, census, bad debt, and contractual and administrative adjustments.
  • Negotiates contracts with potential funding sources as requested.
  • Verifies financial coverage of all patients after admission and coordinates initial financial contract if not completed at the time of admission.
  • Prepares and distributes all reports as required by facility and corporate policy.
  • Oversees the performance of four Billers/Patient Account Representatives including performance, mentoring and counseling.
  • Exhibits excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients, peers, staff, insurance companies, and vendors.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in hospital business office functions preferred, including:
    • Medicare and insurance billing
    • Accounts receivable
    • Accounts collection
    • Financial data processing
  • Three (3) years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • High school diploma required, Associates/Bachelor's degree in business or finance preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Expert computer experience required.
