We are minutes from Philadelphia and we serve Southeastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The Horsham Clinic provides comprehensive behavioral health services to children, adolescents, adults, and their families. Programs and services are located on the main campus in Ambler, Pennsylvania, as well as satellite day hospital programs in Pennsylvania, Delaware County, and Chester County. Summary

The Certified Peer Specialits performs duties and responsibilities as required in the delivery of patient care services on a patient unit under the supervision of the professional nurse; provides peer support services; serves as an advocate; provides information and peer support for patients in an inpatient setting; contributes to the development and implementation of treatment plans as determined by the treatment team; participates in Performance Improvement and in-service education; supports development, customer service and community relations activities. As the Patient Service Coordinator (PSC), employee will be responsible for coordinating group supplies, certain aspects of therapy, and leisure material. PSC will be responsible for daily rounding to ensure all units are in compliance with active therapy and supervision of the milieu.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Graduate of accredited High School.
  • 1-2 years' experience in health care or mental health care setting preferred
  • Knowledge of developmental psychology and needs of various populations.
  • Ability to clearly communicate, both verbally and in writing
  • Computer literacy required
  • Demonstrates potential and skill to be trained in delivery of patient care
  • Professional verbal and written skills needed for communicating with patients.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and high ethical standards
  • Ability to maintain professional relationships with patients, patient's family members, staff and community personnel.
  • Knowledge of milieu management.
  • Skills in preparing and maintaining appropriate medical record documentation.

Licensure/Certification:

  • Certified Peer Specialist through the Department of Behavioral Health
