What you'll do The Inventory Manager is a high-performing team leader who will own the accounting for inventory operations, including financial controls, performance of analytical activities, creation and maintenance of reporting schedules for inventory and products, as well as assistance with period-end close processes and general ledger accuracy for inventory related accounts. - Ensure appropriate inventory valuation and costing of all products in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
- Assist in Period-end closing, prepares journal entries, inventory & BS account reconciliations and analyze inventory valuation and cost variances
- Review the accuracy and investigate issues with transactions relating to purchase orders, inventory receipts, inventory fulfillment, co-manufacturer inventory reports, supply chain invoices, warehouse inventory adjustments, inventory counts and other records impacting inventory in the general ledger.
- Perform physical counts at all locations holding owned inventory
- Assist with the implementation of Mars' governance policy within Inventory.
- Assist in creating, implementing, and/or documenting leading class inventory practices and ensure consistency and accuracy of processes
- Stay updated on industry trends, accounting regulations, and best practices in inventory management and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Assisting accounting with customer complaints related to missing or damaged inventory.
- Monitoring current EDI connections and developing EDI connections with new partners, be an expert in the field of EDI and S4 connectivity to evolve and strengthen our use of systems and accuracy therein. Continuously look for efficiencies and improvements within this space for a best in class inventory management system.

You have...
- BS degree in Business, Accounting, Supply Chain, Logistics, or Finance or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 4+ years of experience in inventory accounting, analysis control and warehousing operational processes.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles including balance sheet and GL.
- Able to extract pertinent data from ERP system or other sources to support above duties, comfortable working with large data sets.
- Management experience preferred.
