The Division of Infectious Diseases/Institute for Global Health and Infectious Diseases is seeking a motivated Research Assistant that will be responsible for molecular laboratory work in a global health molecular epidemiology lab. The research assistant will be responsible for conducting sequencing library preparation for genomic epidemiology studies of infectious agents.

The research assistant will work in conjunction with other lab members, including technicians, the lab manager, and a senior graduate student. They will report to the principal investigator. They will have the opportunity to interact with trainees at all levels in a highly collaborative research group pursuing translational research on a range of infectious diseases and global health projects.

Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Attention to detail.
Experience working in collaborative group setting.

Preferred candidates will have dedicated full-time research experience.
Experience in a molecular biology or immunology lab.

Must possess mobility and strength to store and access research samples, reagents, and supplies. Must have the physical ability to perform many varied tasks (i.e. fine motor skills). Must be able to work effectively individually and as part of a team. All duties to be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

Should be able to analyze data digitally and manually while able to clearly communicate information both verbally and in written form. Should be proficient or able to learn multiple computer software platforms.
