- Designs manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, and material handling.
- Design arrangements of machines within plant facilities to ensure the most efficient and productive layout.
- Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for fabricating tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
- Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
- Inspection and test requirements may be incorporated into the production plan.
- Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action for problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
- Develops manufacturing processes that apply to statistical process control and may develop those techniques.
- Guides engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
- Ensures processes and procedures comply with regulations.
- Analyzing and interpreting electrical, electromechanical, and cable schematics during development and production stages.
- Updating and creating assembly work instructions for efficient assembly based on the drawings or models.
- Identifies and maintains tool lists required to efficiently assemble the given products.
- Investigates technical problems and guides support of manufacturing operators to facilitate assembly performance.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to manufacturing failures and helps implement corrective action, which may include design change recommendations.
- Supports the implementation of lean manufacturing techniques to improve efficiency and reduce waste in the manufacturing process.
