The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify). General Summary of Job Responsibilities
The Associate System Protection Engineer will support the design, analysis, and protection of voltage power systems. The incumbent will aid the implementation of protection schemes for our transmission and distribution systems by completing tasks in support of more senior engineers as directed and delegated. Help with the development of control philosophies and sequences for our generation, transmission, and distribution systems. The Fault Analysis Engineer is responsible for ensuring the correct operation of the protective systems on Consumers Energy's 138kV and 46kV distribution system. The Fault Analysis Engineer responds to emergent fault events and disturbances on the high voltage distribution and generation systems to support real-time operations with customer outage restoration. The Fault Analysis Engineer completes detailed studies of fault events to ensure correct operation and identify mis operations of protection schemes. The Fault Analysis Engineer works with Engineering and Operations to develop corrective action plans. The Fault Analysis Engineer is responsible for developing monitoring recommendations and communication settings. The Fault Analysis Engineer supports the evaluation of new equipment such as communication equipment and line sensors. The Fault Analysis Engineer will support NERC compliance including PRC-002, PRC-004, & PRC-005. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
