Job Title: Data Administrator - Engineering(Hybrid Opportunities Available) Location: Lockport, LA Position Overview The Data Administrator, Engineering, supports engineering projects by performing administrative tasks, organizing and tracking formal deliverables, and managing Vendor Furnished Information (VFI). This role includes interfacing with engineering personnel, regulatory bodies, class societies, vendors, subcontractors, and yard personnel. Reports directly to the Engineering Data Manager. Typical Duties * Manage administrative and coordination tasks assigned by the Project Engineer. * Interface with Engineering, Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), Purchasing, Accounting, Production Control, and management. * Track and maintain Program Change Documentation (e.g., ECPs, ECRs, TPs, TIs, PTS/SOWs, RFPs, RFVs, GFI/GFIDs). * Maintain and audit dynamic change logs and an audit trail for program design decisions and modifications. * Review and distribute Purchase Technical Specifications to vendors. * Receive, organize, and archive vendor data according to departmental standards. * Rapidly familiarize with materials, yard operations, and company policies/procedures. * Provide engineering metrics and reporting data as required. * Respond to project coordination inquiries promptly. * Assemble, track, and manage documentation including drawings, correspondence, comments, deliverables, and transmittals. * Support CDRL management including submissions, tracking, and reporting. * Perform administrative compliance checks for engineering processes. * Manage project documentation in SharePoint. * Conduct data management activities using Integrated Data Environment (IDE), including data uploads/downloads for reviews and approvals. * Act as liaison with regulatory bodies for class approvals documentation. * Maintain KMS status, reporting on open and closed liens during weekly meetings. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Strong understanding of engineering administrative practices. * Excellent communication skills across Program Management, Engineering, and Production teams. * Ability to efficiently manage, organize, and distribute extensive project data. * Capable of independent work managing multiple simultaneous projects. * Proficient teamwork and interpersonal skills. * Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. * Basic AutoCAD skills preferred. * Familiarity with configuration/change management in federal shipbuilding projects. * Knowledge of shipbuilding documentation and configuration control processes. * Understanding of Ships Work Breakdown Structure (SWBS). * Experience with database management (Microsoft Access, SQL Server, Oracle preferred). * Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees, customers, and subcontractors. * Self-motivated, capable of performing effectively under pressure.
