EwingCole is a nationally recognized architecture, engineering, interior design and planning firm with offices across the country. Our multi-disciplinary practice is built on the core values of professional excellence, design quality and collaboration. We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with a P.E. license and 5 to 10 years of experience to join our team in our San Diego, CA office.

As part of the Mechanical Engineering HVAC team, the Engineer is responsible for specific design and documentation tasks assigned by the Project Engineer.

Essential Functions

  • Independent design and documentation of small to mid-sized projects with minimal supervision.
  • Work with Project Engineers on larger projects and specific tasks.
  • Perform equipment selections, engineering calculations and HVAC system design.
  • Coordinate HVAC requirements with other disciplines.
  • Ensure the design and production efforts are completed within the established project budgets and schedules.
  • Responsible for AutoCAD and/or REVIT documentation.
  • Work with clients and contractors on a limited basis.
  • Mentor junior staff and co-ops.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or Bachelor of Architectural Engineering
  • Registered PE in at least one state with suitable credentials for registration in other states.
  • Management knowledge and application
  • Strong technical knowledge and application
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD/Revit
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Computer skills

The actual offered base salary will vary depending on factors such as individual qualifications, education, experience, skills, job-related knowledge, work location, and internal equity. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation in the form of discretionary bonuses in addition to base salary and a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
