Description

Summary/Purpose of the Position:

The Manufacturing Coordinator collaborates with manufacturing and customer service personnel to drive day-to-day plant operations. This role will ensure that the production department meets its quality assurance and customer on-time delivery goals by planning, scheduling, executing, and directing production activities. The Manufacturing Coordinator must manage product, or service-related needs, and issues with the highest degree of courtesy and professionalism. This Manufacturing Coordinator must be a change agent with a continuous improvement mindset who always strives for operational excellence.

Essential Duties, Functions and/or Responsibilities:



  • Using ERP system (Epicor), to create and review jobs, bill of materials (BOM), bill of operations (BOO), and part numbers.
  • Collaborate with the Manufacturing Planner and/or Corporate Buyer to ensure that raw materials are ordered in the correct amount and in a timely manner.
  • Provide ship dates to customer service representatives based on material availability, quoted lead times, and current capacity.
  • Close jobs, analyze work order gross profit, and work with production leads to improve line operations.
  • Manage customer requests for schedule changes or revision level changes by working with, and across departments, including purchasing, engineering/estimating, customer service, quality, etc.
  • Champion customer requirements through frequent, clear communications to internal departments within the plant to ensure 100% on time delivery is achieved.
  • Follow all AS9100, Quality Management System (QMS) procedures, work instructions and use only approved forms as documented in the QMS.
  • Manage the engineering change notice (ECN) log and update when necessary.
  • Co-own the first article inspection process (logging, new parts quality sign off, etc.).
  • Drive LEAN process improvement, assist in CAPAs, and other quality escapes/non-conformance investigations.
  • Participate in the local site FAB Safety Team.
  • Participate in assigned team functions and projects.
  • Participate in internal and external audits when necessary.
  • Indirectly responsible for product quality
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:



  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent industry experience in Business Administration or related field preferred
  • 5+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • 2+ years as a senior operator preferred.
  • Experience leading Lean Six Sigma and Kaizen projects a plus.

  • Must be reliable, dependable, punctual, and conscientious about production performance.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, previous employment verification, federal and county criminal background check.
  • Proficient in MS Office: Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Basic mathematical principles
  • Working knowledge of general accident prevention practices.
  • Willing to acquire production related certification within 3 years of hire.

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions in accordance with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular and timely attendance in accordance with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. when necessary
