Global chemical manufacturer is looking for a Category Manager for direct materials. This position would primarily be responsible for procuring raw materials, specifically petrochemicals. This position is a temporary assignment anticipated to be for about 6 months with potential for conversion. This is a hybrid opportunity, M-F, 3 days per week in office in Northbrook.

They are very dynamic, forward thinking and collaborative team. Stakeholder engagement is very important in the problem-solving approach. They offer competitive salary and medical benefits offered during temporary duration.

Requirements:



  • 5+ years' experience within procurement of direct materials

    Bachelor's Degree in supply chain, finance, business, engineering or related field


  • SAP and Zycus experience preferred
  • Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high growth environment
  • Strong Problem Solving, and Analytical skills
