The Enterprise Effects Division (EED) drives integration of Aerospace's strategic capabilities across the national space enterprise. The division leverages a broad array of engineering disciplines against a diverse and dynamic portfolio of programs, customers, and national challenges. EED spans the capability lifecycle from concept and architecture design to performance assessment to application of space and space-enabled capabilities.

The Communication and Ground Architectures Office (CGAO) within the Integrated Performance Subdivision (IPS) consists of a team dedicated to delivering modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) solutions to answer new and emerging government and commercial customer needs. We conduct modeling and performance assessments of complex communication, network, and ground architectures, scheduling and resource allocation algorithms, and mission management strategies.

Work Model:

This full-time position requires 100% onsite work in Chantilly, VA or Colorado Springs, COS.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Build and lead teams of analysts, coordinating complex technical tasks among team members, translating customer needs into tasks for analysts and developers, and reviewing work products for quality and accuracy

  • Lead ground architectures-focused analysis efforts in support of multiple Aerospace program offices

  • Buildingandmaintaining a strong baseof customers and collaborators for the section through effective working relationships with colleagues, government customers, and contractor teammates

  • Developingstaff through formal and informal performance management, evaluation, mentoring, and coaching

  • Recruitingand on-boardingfull-time staff and interns tomaintain and growan impactful organization

  • Cultivating a vision for the section, including identifyingopportunities for growth, engaging with customers tofacilitatethat growth, and developing new capabilities and areas of technicalexpertiseto meet evolvingneeds

  • Partnering withrelated ETG departments supporting M&S for ground systems including ArCon (Architectures Concepts Dept) and VGCD (Vehicle and Ground Concepts Dept)

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.S degree in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, systems engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline from an accredited school

  • 6 or more years of relevant and progressive professional experience

  • Demonstrated experience leading analysis teams, coordinating complex technical tasks among team members, and translating customer needs intoviableinstructions for analysts

  • Professional experience with space-related modeling, communication/ground architectures, data network modeling, scheduling algorithms and logistics, or mission management

  • Knowledge of Python, C++, or MATLAB

  • A current and active Top Secret/SCI security clearance

  • Graduate degree in one of the fields of study mentioned above

  • Experience working in partnership with multiple Aerospace program offices, Aerospace technical experts, and customers

  • Strong interpersonal networks within Aerospace and with customer organizations that can be leveraged to establish collaboration and obtain sponsorship for / commitment to projects

  • Expertise in communication/ground architecture operations and testing

  • Expertise in Intelligence Community or US Department of Defense business practices, acquisition policies, or space mission portfolios

  • Proficiency with one or more software languages that may include Python, C++, or MATLAB

We offer a competitive compensation package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.

$134,200 - $201,300 Pay Basis: Annual
