This role is ideal for someone who pays close attention to detail, works with accuracy and efficiency, and is committed to safety and continuous improvement. If you're adaptable, enjoy working with different materials and tools, and take satisfaction in building something from the ground up, this is the place for you.

Are you our next Welder Fabricator?

This role reports directly to the Production Supervisor and follows a full-time, on-site schedule at our Air Way facility in Grayling, MI. As a vital part of our manufacturing team, you will contribute to the creation of high-quality, custom automation systems by applying your welding and fabrication expertise. Your ability to interpret blueprints, maintain precision, and ensure the structural integrity of each project will be critical to our success. If you take pride in your craftsmanship, enjoy working with a variety of materials, and thrive in a hands-on environment, we want to hear from you!

Here's how you'll make an impact:

  • Read and interpret blueprints to accurately position and assemble parts for welding.
  • Set up and adjust welding equipment, ensuring proper weld current, wire feed, and gas flow for optimal performance.
  • Perform high-quality welds that meet or exceed structural integrity, functionality, and aesthetic expectations.
  • Inspect and refine finished welds by removing BBs and other imperfections to achieve a clean, polished final product.
  • Adhere to all company safety protocols, maintaining a clean, organized, and accident-free work environment.
  • Operate essential fabrication equipment, including press brakes, box brakes, and rolls, to shape and prepare materials as needed.

To Succeed, You Will Need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent with welding and fabrication experience or recent training.
  • Proficiency in MIG (GMAW) and TIG (GTAW) welding, with the ability to weld in multiple positions.
  • Experience using press brakes, box brakes, and rolls for material shaping.
  • Ability to read blueprints, technical documents, and measurements accurately.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to handle fabrication challenges.
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, twist, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs. in a production environment.
  • Commitment to safety protocols, including wearing protective gear such as safety glasses, gloves, ear protection, and safety shoes.

In Return, We Offer you:

At Atlas Copco, we know that work is more than just a job. Here's what we offer to keep you happy, healthy, and inspired:

  • Professional Development: Opportunities for growth, training, and career advancement.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Life, and more.
  • Financial Security: 401(k) with a baseline company contribution and matching opportunities starting at 6%, increasing further with tenure.
