Your tasks

  • The Operational Quality and Lean Manager is responsible for driving strategic planning, oversight, and execution of all aspects of operational quality and lean/operational excellence activities across assigned sites for the organization. This individual is a builder of sustainable systems and driver of change in the areas of first pass yield, rework, ISO, and Lean/Six Sigma.
  • Creates and implements systems for executing and improving company quality standards.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Product Management to interpret, builds upon, and complies with company quality control and quality assurance standards.
  • Supervises and leads Quality Supervisors, Quality Engineers, QC Technicians, as well as Continuous Improvement Coordinators and Engineers.
  • Uses data to drive root cause problem solving across a variety of activities.
  • Oversees and implements Lean/Six Sigma policies.
  • Chairs Material Review Board and oversees daily disposition of contained product.
  • Interfaces with customers and regulatory agencies.
  • Oversees quality laboratory.
  • Introduces and implements structured tools and methods for continuous improvement in manufacturing and supply chain.
  • Drives bottom line performance improvement in any operational area (quality, safety, productivity, etc.).
  • Designs, develops, and applies best in class systems in both operations and Lean/Six Sigma.
  • Coaches and develops problem solving culture.
  • Develops appropriate KPIs and operational metrics, particularly regarding quality and improvement activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Your profile

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to manage direct employees in a high-precision quality environment.
  • Ability to lead via influence, persuasion, negotiation.
  • Strong technical leadership abilities.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and ISO documentation.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Operations Management or related field preferred.
  • Master's degree in operations management, Quality Management, or related field strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years as a people manager.
  • Minimum of five (5) years operational quality management and continuous improvement experience.
  • Secondary technical management or operational management role preferred.
  • Experience with international companies and regional/global roles preferred.
  • Strong ISO Auditor experience (internal auditor or external) advantageous.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt required (Black Belt preferred).
  • Experience in injection molding, extrusion, or other heavy industrial equipment aided by robotics and machine vision preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience building teams of high execution.
  • Exposure to machine noise.
  • Typical office/factory environment with possibility of exposure to heat in production area.
  • Working conditions are normal for a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Work may involve lifting of materials and product up to 30 pounds and working in and around heavy equipment.
  • Working in this environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, and work boots.
  • This role may require walking in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
  • This role may require travel of 10-15%.
