Your responsibilities

thyssenkrupp Uhde USA, LLC in Houston, Texas, seeks a Sr. Process Engineer.

Duties:

  • Support company business development, sales, and project commissioning operations for both front-end and detail engineering work on chemical engineering-related greenfield and brownfield projects
  • Review and assist in development of project-level operational plans
  • Develop and maintain engineering deliverables including simulations, heat and material balances, process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), equipment specifications, technical bid evaluations, instrument specifications, design drawings, design reviews, equipment lists, and test protocols
  • Prepare project-related schedules, budgets, requests for quotation, requests for information, contractor bid packages, and statements of work
  • Develop chemical process control philosophy and descriptions, conduct performance testing, and determine Critical to Quality (CTQ) attributes of products and processes.
  • Hybrid position - in office/work from home.
  • 10% travel, both domestic and international.

Your profile

Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, or foreign equivalent degree.

3 years of work experience in a senior process engineering position.

Must have 3 years of experience with each of the following:

  • Providing conceptual, basic process design of unit operations and preparing heat and material balances, process flow diagrams, Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs), and specifications of equipment and instruments.
  • Using Aspen plus, Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Dynamics, AFT Arrow and Fathom, ChemCAD for process simulations.
  • Chemical processing facility including utility systems, and supporting plant cold and hot commissioning, start-up, and shut-down activities.
  • Sizing and analyzing flare header systems using Aspen Flare System Analyzer.
  • Polymer processing and Alkoxylation processes.
