Job Description

Visa Corporate Technology Support has embarked on a significant transformation, rethinking how we provide operational support for the services we deliver to our end users. As part of this strategy, we are aligning operational functions into a single area focused on providing world-class support. The Event Operations Specialist plays a crucial role in the planning, coordination, and execution of events. This position supports the Senior Event Operations Specialist and the Lead, Events and Video Production Specialist in ensuring seamless event operations. The Event Operations Specialist handles logistical details, provides on-site support, and ensures that all aspects of the event run smoothly and efficiently.

This role places the successful candidate at the forefront of end-user interactions. This position requires technical versatility, strong customer service skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Exceptional Customer Service: Actively engage with end users, ensuring their issues and requests are addressed with professionalism, empathy, and efficiency.
  • Proactive Problem Solving: Identify issues before they escalate, using strong analytical and diagnostic skills to minimize downtime and ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Technology Optimization: Continuously refine and improve support processes, adopt best practices, and seek opportunities to enhance the end-user computing environment.

Essential Functions

  • Event Planning Support:
    • Assist in the development of detailed event plans, timelines, and checklists.
    • Coordinate logistics, including vendor arrangements, equipment setup, and transportation.
    • Assist in the preparation and management of event budgets.
    • Help with site visits and inspections to evaluate venues and ensure they meet event specifications.
  • Vendor and Venue Coordination:
    • Liaise with vendors for services such as catering, audio-visual equipment, and event staffing.
    • Coordinate with venues to ensure all logistical requirements are met, including seating arrangements, lighting, and AV setups.
    • Ensure all necessary permits and licenses are obtained for events.
  • Logistical Execution:
    • Assist with the setup, execution, and breakdown of events, ensuring all elements are executed according to plan.
    • Provide on-site support during events, handling technical and operational tasks.
    • Oversee the setup and operation of AV equipment, including cameras, microphones, and lighting.
    • Manage live streaming and video production elements, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted streaming.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
    • Communicate effectively with internal teams, vendors, and venues to ensure alignment and support for events.
    • Provide regular updates to the Senior Event Operations Specialist and Lead, Events and Video Production Specialist on event progress and any potential issues.
    • Conduct pre-event briefings with stakeholders to review event plans and address any concerns.
  • Post-Event Analysis:
    • Assist in conducting post-event evaluations, gathering feedback from stakeholders and attendees.
    • Identify areas for improvement and suggest changes to enhance future events.
    • Help prepare detailed reports on event performance, including metrics on attendance, engagement, and technical performance.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 60% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree, OR 3+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 or more years of work experience in event operations, with a focus on logistical coordination.
  • Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Communications, Media Production, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of supporting successful events and delivering high-quality results.
  • Experience with live streaming and video production

      • Video Codec Standards: H.264, H.265
      • Audio Standards: AAC, Dolby Digital
      • Streaming Protocols: RTMP, HLS, DASH
      • Resolution Standards: HD, Full HD, 4K
  • Problem-Solving and Adaptability:
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to manage high-pressure, time-sensitive tasks with a calm and strategic approach.
    • Adaptability to handle unexpected challenges and changes during events.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
    • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, venues, and internal teams.
    • Strong teamwork skills to support and collaborate with other event team members.
Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 66,300.00 to 93,700.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
