HR Assistant (Restaurant Industry)

Summary:
The HR Assistant will provide essential support to the Human Resources department, focusing on accurate and timely payroll processing, efficient benefit administration, and meticulous management of employee records. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong background in payroll, benefit administration, and employee information management within the restaurant industry.
Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing:
* Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
* Collect, review, and input employee time and attendance data.
* Resolve payroll discrepancies and address employee payroll inquiries.
* Prepare and distribute payroll reports.
* Manage and maintain payroll records.
Benefit Administration:
* Assist with the enrollment and administration of employee benefits, including health insurance, dental, vision, and 401(k).
* Serve as a point of contact for employee benefit inquiries.
* Maintain accurate benefit records and ensure timely updates.
* Assist with benefit open enrollment processes.
Employee Information Management:
* Maintain and update employee records in HRIS (Human Resources Information System), including personal information, employment status, and performance data.
* Onboard new employees, including processing paperwork and conducting new hire orientations.
* Manage employee files, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data privacy regulations.
* Process employee status changes, including promotions, transfers, and terminations.
* Generate and distribute employee reports as needed.
* Maintain I-9 paperwork and compliance.
* Provide administrative support to the HR department, including scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, and maintaining office supplies.
Qualifications:
* Minimum of 3+ years of experience in an HR Assistant role within the restaurant industry.
* Strong understanding of payroll processing, benefit administration, and employee information management.
* Proficiency in HRIS and payroll software.
* Knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws.
* Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
* Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
* Ability to commute to Torrance, CA.

The base pay range above represents the low and high end of the base compensation range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual base compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, actual experience, and job performance.
