Responsibilities
We are currently seeking a highly talented and creative mid-level Urban Designer/Planner for our Houston office. This position has significant growth potential as you collaborate with senior Page planners, urban designers, architects, landscape architects, and other professionals to create integrated, sustainable, memorable, and implementable solutions to complex problems.
- Provide design ideas and direction on a wide range project types and scales for higher education campuses, research and innovation districts, urban districts and neighborhoods, transit-oriented developments, and mixed-use, residential, and commercial developments
- Collaborate across teams to create integrated, sustainable, memorable, and implementable solutions to complex planning problems
- Participate in client presentations
- Participate in the development of planning reports and other deliverables, including compelling visual representation and narrative
- Support a planning process with scheduling, budgets, staffing, and project coordination
- Conduct data research and analyses related to planning projects, such as planning level space analysis or land use development potential
- Integrate physical, social, economic, and sustainable factors into responsible designs for our clients
Qualifications
- Passion for urban design, interdisciplinary collaboration and graphics
- Degree from an accredited college or university in urban design, architecture, planning or related field
- Experience in a range of project types and scales consistent with Page's practice areas
- Strong design, writing, visual, and quantitative analysis skills
- Ability to apply technology and software applications creatively to support planning solutions
- Advanced skill in digital software (Rhino and/or Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite)
- Experience in AutoCAD, ArcGIS mapping for urban design and planning, and Data Visualization
- Advanced skill with hand-drawn urban design analysis, illustrative plans, renderings, and 2D and 3D representation
- Exceptional design talent as well as a deep understanding of urban design standards and principles.
