POSITION

This role sits within Allspring's Investment COO Office. The Business Manager will support and work with the Equity and Fixed Income Investment COOs to lead the process of developing and implementing strategic initiatives for Allspring's investment teams. This role represents the investment function and partners with Allspring's Project Management Office to ensure alignment with organizational goals, foster collaboration, and execute deliverables. The individual will work closely with cross-functional teams, senior leadership, and stakeholders to guide discussions, manage resources, and oversee the execution of strategic plans.

We currently operate in a hybrid working model, whereby you will be required to work in-office 3 days a week.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist the Equity and Fixed Income Investment COOs with:



  • Strategic Planning Facilitation:

    • Design and facilitate workshops or sessions to derive the corporate function's strategy.
    • Support discussions to align stakeholders on goals, priorities, and actionable outcomes.
    • Ensure an inclusive environment where all voices are heard, and ideas are synthesized effectively.


  • Project Management:

    • Develop project plans that align with the organization's strategic objectives.
    • Coordinate resources, timelines, and budgets to ensure successful delivery of strategic initiatives.
    • Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation plans.


  • Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Collaborate with senior leadership to define strategic goals and desired outcomes.
    • Act as a liaison between departments to ensure alignment across teams.
    • Present findings, progress updates, and recommendations to stakeholders.


  • Analysis and Strategy Development:

    • Conduct research on industry trends, market data, and internal performance metrics to inform strategy.
    • Evaluate existing processes and recommend improvements for enhanced efficiency.
    • Translate strategic objectives into actionable projects with measurable outcomes.


  • Facilitation of Decision-Making:

    • Lead discussions on complex or controversial topics to achieve consensus.
    • Encourage creative problem-solving and critical thinking during strategy sessions.
    • Provide post-session follow-up reports summarizing key decisions, next steps, and accountability measures.


  • Continuous Improvement:

    • Assess tools, techniques, and methodologies used in strategy development for effectiveness.
    • Mentor team members on best practices in strategic project management and facilitation.
    • Drive a culture of innovation by introducing new frameworks or approaches when appropriate.




REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Extensive experience in Financial Services, preferably Investment Management
  • Deep domain skills in research/analysis, portfolio management, order management, operational/investment risk, and middle/back-office operations
  • Deep financial knowledge of equity, fixed income, and derivative instruments
  • Deep technical knowledge of applications and workflows that support research/analysis, portfolio management, order management, operational/investment risk, and middle/back-office operations


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Proven experience in project management (PMP certification is a plus).
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Confluence/JIRA preferred) and data analysis software.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Expertise in fostering collaboration across diverse teams.
  • Familiarity with strategic planning frameworks (e.g., SWOT analysis, OKRs) and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Lean).
  • Strong background in facilitating strategic planning sessions or workshops.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize data into actionable insights.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
