Director of Business Development and Marketing Position Purpose Responsible for directing, managing, and executing actions and strategies to enhance the company's brand awareness within the Construction Equipment (CE) industry. This position will work closely with all departments within the company and the leadership group. Director of Business Development and Marketing Essential Functions
- Communicates and supports the Kirby Smith vision and core values of One Mission, One Team, One Plan, One Goal
- Oversees strategic growth initiatives and manages related activities to align with company goals
- Drives and supports relationships across all facets of the organization, including employees, customers, and vendor partners
- Contributes to the company's revenue growth, ROI, and market share goals by identifying opportunities and implementing initiatives
- Identifies potential markets, target clients, or business opportunities
- Makes recommendations for new facility locations, builds cross-functional business plans, and drives approved projects to completion
- Negotiates contracts and agreements to support new ventures, including real estate contract negotiations
- Researches and analyzes market trends, competitors, and customer needs to inform decision-making and strategy
- Evaluates and recommends new product distribution opportunities to expand market reach
- Partners with department leaders to identify and implement strategies for organic growth
- Travels to any of the branch locations throughout Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, and Missouri
- Maintains industry knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, industry events, seminars, and trade shows
- Plans, budgets, and executes campaigns for corporate promotions, new product line launches, and company activities
- Leads and manages the activities of the marketing department, providing industry experience, guidance, mentoring, coaching, and counseling as needed
- Creates and enhances all levels of brand awareness through multiple channels, including social media, industry shows, membership groups, and a superior website presence
- Collaborates daily with the marketing team to provide direction, input, and continuous improvement strategies
- Supports the management of the annual marketing budget, analyzing effectiveness and ensuring a strong Return on Marketing Investment (ROMI)
- Supports the company's novelty operations by collaborating on new offerings and ensuring effective control of total spending
- Ensures consistent and reliable on-site attendance
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Director of Business Development and Marketing Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required, MBA preferred
- Five (5) years of experience in construction equipment (CE) distribution or manufacturing, preferably withKomatsu or major manufacturer
- Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including strong presentation abilities
- Maintains flexibility with work schedules and priorities to adapt to changing demands
- Excellent organizational, planning, and project completion capabilities
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required
Director of Business Development and Marketing Physical Requirements
- Pushing/Pulling/Lifting/Carrying up to 50 pounds without assistance
- Physical ability to squat, twist, turn, bend, stoop, climb, and reach overhead
- Driving or sitting for long periods
- Ability to hear, listen, see, and touch
- Adheres to personal protective equipment (PPE) policy and maintains individual PPE infunctional condition
