Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Middleware Engineer with 5 to 8 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Websphere Liberty, Kubernetes, and Tomcat. This hybrid role requires a strong technical background and the ability to work effectively in a day shift. No travel is required. Responsibilities
- Lead the deployment and management of Websphere Liberty environments to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Oversee Kubernetes cluster configurations and ensure seamless orchestration of containerized applications.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Tomcat servers to maintain high availability and performance.
- Collaborate with development teams to implement infrastructure solutions that align with project requirements.
- Monitor system performance and implement necessary optimizations to improve efficiency.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline infrastructure management tasks.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices in all infrastructure operations.
- Conduct regular system audits and generate reports to identify areas for improvement.
- Participate in capacity planning and scaling activities to support business growth.
- Implement disaster recovery plans and conduct regular testing to ensure system resilience.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members to foster their professional growth.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously enhance infrastructure operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business objectives.
Qualifications
- Possess extensive experience in managing Websphere Liberty environments.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Kubernetes for container orchestration and management.
- Have strong expertise in configuring and maintaining Tomcat servers.
- Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Show proficiency in scripting languages for automation purposes.
- Have a solid understanding of security best practices in infrastructure management.
- Display strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid work model.
- Possess a proactive approach to learning and staying current with emerging technologies.
- Demonstrate experience in capacity planning and disaster recovery implementation.
- Have a track record of mentoring and guiding junior team members.
- Show experience in conducting system audits and generating performance reports.
- Exhibit the ability to work effectively in a day shift without the need for travel.
- Hold relevant certifications in Websphere Liberty Kubernetes or Tomcat.
Certifications Required Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) IBM Certified System Administrator - WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment V9.0 Apache Tomcat Administration Certification Salary and Other Compensation: Applications will be accepted until 03/28/2025 The annual salary for this position is between $79,240 - $154,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
