This position requires to be working in office, 3 days per week, from our Bala Cynwyd, PA office. Position Summary Reporting to the V.P. of Supply Chain. The Director of Demand Planning is responsible for leading Pep Boys Demand Planning Process. The Director also ensures that the company's demand is reconciled with its business needs and financial plans. Their responsibilities include:
- Responsible for direct supervision of North American based team of Supply Chain Analyst and Demand Managers
- Providing leadership, training, and support to ensure a robust demand forecasting/planning process
- Lead Multi-Echelon Demand Planning and Strategy
- Serve as the communication leader between Product Marketing, Promotions Planning, and Finance teams on forecasting issues.
- Lead monthly consensus planning meetings to ensure sales trends, consumption insights, and consumer promotion strategies are aligned.
- Own and drive transformation from current process to a new platform, managing change management, data migration, and project deliverables.
- Identify, evaluate, and implement planning improvements drawing on statistical methods, demand planning principles, S&OP best practices, and emerging software technology
- Working with the Supply Planning team to identify and resolve changes in the forecast and their impact on the supply chain
- Drive long-range forecast visibility.
- Ensure are Demand planning data is reviewed on a timely basis and updated as needed
- Work across a diverse group of stakeholders to ensure we collaboratively improve, adapt, and adopt our processes
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelors/University degree in Operations, Supply Chain Management or related Business degree required. MBA Preferred
- CSCP or IBF Certification a plus
- 9+ years of experience in Demand Planning and S&OP in the CPG/Retail Space.
- 7+ years People Leader experience
- High proficiency in using Business Intelligence software
- Expert knowledge of consumption-based forecasting and Croston's Forecasting methodology
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated leadership experience across multiple functional disciplines
- Proven track record of multiple ERP implementations
- Transformation experience - onboarding new tools and implementing S&OP/IBP processes.
- Detail oriented, self-starter, working independently and comfortable taking initiative as well as driving and delivering high quality results.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to partner internally and externally to resolve issues and identify opportunities.
- Excellent understanding of forecasting and forecast analysis techniques along with their financial and operational impacts
