Overview

The Break Time Training Manager is responsible for developing the Break Time management team. Key functions include providing initial and ongoing training for Break Time managers, managing a team of trainers leading training of Break Time operational staff, and providing back-up management support as needed.

Responsibilities



  • Deliver hands-on training in a live store environment, developing new store leaders to properly perform all position responsibilities including:



    • Customer Service
    • Day-to-day store operations
    • Merchandising and sales
    • Supervision
    • Communication
    • Store finances and inventory management
    • Technology



  • Lead initial training for all Columbia-area Break Time new hires and newly promoted employees, providing training directly or through a dedicated training team.
  • Travel throughout the Break Time footprint to provide ongoing leadership development for new and established leaders.
  • Continuously review and offer recommendations for improvement to training plans and materials.
  • In conjunction with Break Time leadership, identify training needs within the Break Time store team and draft plans to meet those needs.
  • Manage assigned employees including hiring, evaluating performance, making wage adjustments, and taking disciplinary action as appropriate.
  • Plan and direct the work of assigned employees, including providing clear direction; training, developing and motivating employees; enforcing company policies and safety requirements; monitoring productivity; and resolving conflict in a timely manner.
  • Establish individual and team goals for each department, as well as establish personal goals with senior leadership; ensure goals are attainable and trackable.
  • Ensure employees follow posted work schedules and adhere to proper clocking procedures to accurately reflect hours worked.
  • Prepare and submit recommended budgets for departmental operations.
  • Perform Store Manager responsibilities in a back-up role as required.
  • All MFA Oil employees are expected to know and adhere to company and position specific policies and procedures. While this job description contains the primary duties of the position, employees may be expected to perform other duties as assigned.



Job Requirements



  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior management or leadership work experience
  • Experience in retail sales
  • Track record of developing talent
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate with individuals at all levels within the organization
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Ability to learn new concepts and use technical materials
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations to make change, complete shift reports and account for numbers of products during vendor check in
  • Ability to consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery
  • Works well individually and in leading a team
  • Ability to visually observe and inspect items and work environment for regular job responsibilities and safety concerns
  • Physical ability to move and position self to move and retrieve products and supplies from shelves, under counters, or stacks of inventory weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Physical ability to move and position products in cooler with temps as low as 30 degrees for up to 1 hour and in the freezer with temps as low as 0 degrees for up to 10 minutes
  • Flexible availability which may include any shift, weekends and holidays as needed


  • Ability to travel statewide approximately one day a week is expected with occasional overnights


  • At least 18 years of age
  • Ability to exchange accurate information with Break Time customers in English
  • Valid driver's license and vehicle insurance with adequate transportation to/from bank (the vehicle must be locked and secured when transporting the deposit to the bank)
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Ability to meet company requirements including successful pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check

  • Bachelor's degree
