DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Content Creator within our Digital Strategy office, you will be tasked with leading a three-person team to create and drive out innovative graphics, videos, animations, gifs, text, and methods that have not been tested yet to reach Pennsylvanians, legislators, stakeholders, and national audiences. Work involves supervising the Platforms Manager and Production Associate as well as helping lead the office's relationship with Commonwealth Media Services, including managing the Content team's staffing schedule within the Governor's 5-7 day per week schedule. You will have the opportunity to work closely with the Governor's Communication Office to share the Governor's message online, working to adjust the message as needed for online audiences. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Developing ideas with the larger digital office, ensuring all digital media is published accurately and bringing ideas across the content spectrum from ideation to execution
  • Staff, film, and travel with the Governor to Administration events and digital shoots as necessary
  • Overseeing a selection of agency Digital Directors to ensure the Governor's message is being supported by Commonwealth agencies online
  • Editing high stakes videos to ensure they fit into the Governor's larger brand and emphasize the Governor's story
  • Understanding how to positively engage with diverse online audiences
  • Assisting in all rapid response efforts, preparing for anticipated news, and managing the creative projects that will spearhead our response

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Given the always-on nature of the role, work outside 9-5 and on weekends is expected.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to one day per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

  • Note: The person who serves in this role must live in Harrisburg, with in-person responsibilities at least four days per week and often more.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Four years of experience creating and managing content across digital platforms (websites, social media, blogs, email, videos, etc.), including content strategy development, audience targeting, and content distribution across various digital channels; and at least two years of experience managing, mentoring, and leading a team of content creators, designers, and/or digital marketers.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must have the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, design, product, and development teams.
  • You must have proven success in managing content production schedules and resources.
  • You must have experience collaborating with teams to ensure content is consistent, on-brand, and timely.
  • You must have experience ensuring consistent brand voice and messaging across all digital channels.
  • You must have the ability to adapt content strategies to meet the evolving needs of the brand and target audience.
  • You must have the ability to manage content crises, sensitive situations, and adapt strategies quickly when necessary.
  • You must have the ability to work well in a fast-paced and highly collaborative team environment.
  • You must be enthusiastic and self-motivated with a desire to learn new tools and technologies.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Experience in government or campaign offices
