Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) located in scenic Upstate NY is a multi-campus College with locations in Troy and Malta New York. Department: Center for Access and Assistive Technology Technical Assistant In order to be considered an applicant for this position you must meet the minimum qualifications as stated in this announcement. HVCC does not support Visas. Applicants must currently hold an unrestricted employment authorization to work in the United States and appointment will be contingent upon completion of a background check. Minimum Qualifications: Associate's degree in Education, Human Services, Social Sciences or related field. Directly related work experience with disabled populations may be substituted for required education upon individual review. Post-secondary level experience preferred; counseling, assistive technology and computer experience desired. Nature and Scope of Duties: 1. Supports the processing of registering students. 2. Assists with the intake of incoming students with disabilities and with maintaining files and records of students 3. Assists with summer orientation program for new CAAT students. 4. Assists with National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) compliance for students with disabilities, as well as support of general student voter registration on campus. 5. Provides testing accommodations to students with disabilities, including reading of tests, remediation of exams proctoring of exams, scribing of exams, and supervising extended time testing accommodations which may require evening and weekend hours. 6. Assists with Placement Tests for incoming students with disabilities. 7. Responsible for proctoring mid-term and final examinations for students with disabilities. 8. Attends workshops and participates in community council boards and consumer groups relating to disability concerns. 9. Responsible for maintaining exam security, logging exams - in and out. 10. Assists with general office functions including answering phones, filing, greeting faculty, staff and students and scheduling appointments. 11. Visits local high schools and college fairs which may include evening and weekend hours. 12. Assists with coordination of college commencement activities for students with disabilities. 13. Supports evening and weekend assignments as needed 14. Assists with preparing student accommodation forms. 15. Provides support to other offices within Student Development as needed. 16. Performs additional duties as assigned by the Associate Dean of Student Development. This is a 12-month, Full-Time position with a salary range of $40,500-$42,500.
