Administrative Assistant I

What you will do:

Administrative Services:




  • Calendar Management and Scheduling to support:




    • the Dean of the School of Education & Human Development



    • the Executive Director, Continuing & Professional Ed



    • and Program Leaders - large group meetings with internal/external constituents





  • Provides primary administrative support to the dean and dean's office, including (but not limited to) word and data processing, filing and copying, while anticipating administrative needs.



  • Provides reception and serves as a point of contact for the Dean's Office. Greeting visitors and escorting/referring them to the appropriate person or office.



  • Ensures that the office is organized and viewed by others as a service-oriented environment



  • Provides telephone and email support for the Dean. Answers the phone or takes messages as necessary and delivers messages promptly. Provides full time coverage of telephone, with limited reliance on voicemail. Responds to requests in emails forwarded by the Dean.



  • Initiates appropriate contacts with internal and external personnel with regard to requests for meetings, information about the School or the School's programs.



  • Provide backup support to the Operations Manager and assist with event planning and room set-up as needed.



  • Completing other duties as assigned.




This position involves working closely with students where the person may become aware of campus safety issues that may need to be reported as part of CU's commitment to compliance with the Clery Act. The person in this role will receive the related training and be required to submit data once per year to the campus Clery Act team. Qualifications you already possess (Minimum Qualifications)



  • One (1) year of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position


Education and Experience:



  • A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to one (1) year


Preferred Qualification to possess (Preferred Qualifications)



  • Two (2) years in education, psychology, business, public administration, health care, educational technology, social science, liberal arts, communications, accounting, finance, library science, or a directly related field


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities




  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.



  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.



  • Demonstrate a commitment to providing outstanding customer service skills.


  • Demonstrate an understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion with a commitment to developing equitable practices.


Conditions of Employment




  • Occasional work during the evening and/or weekends may be required.



  • This position requires an onsite presence on campus 5 days a week.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $45,000 - $49,472.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

This position is eligible for overtime compensation.
