Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Occupational Therapist (Hand Certified) - NYU Langone Huntington Medical Group.
In this role, the successful candidate will provide appropriate therapy to help patients improve their ability to perform activities of daily living and to achieve optimal level of self-care and productivity. Uses clinical expertise to plan the delivery of safe, therapeutic, and age appropriate care through examination, evaluation, diagnosis and physical intervention.
Job Responsibilities:
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Performs an objective functional evaluation including appropriate tests and measures and establishes a plan of care with measurable goals.
- Implements appropriate interventions treatment as indicated by the patient's functional status, diagnosis, and age in conjunction with the plan of care.
- Maintains accurate, complete and timely documentation reflecting the examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, plan of care, education and interventions.
- Interacts and collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes and health care goals. Provides on-site clinical supervision to Occupational Therapist Assistants and Rehabilitation Aides.
- Evaluates patient progress toward functional goals, and will modify the the plan of care accordingly.
- Provides patient, family, and clinician education regarding the patient's functional status and plan of care.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree Occupational Therapy (Accreditation Council of Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) approved OT program). Minimum 3 year experience in Hospital (Inpatient) or Orthopedic (Outpatient) rehabilitation setting. Current and valid NYS Occupational Therapy license and registration or limited permit. Current CHT certification within 1 year of hire. Current and valid BLS or CPR certification from the American Heart Association - Outpatient facility only. Excellent communication (both oral and written) skills. Basic computer skills..
Required Licenses: Hand Therapy Cert, Occup Thrpst License-NYS
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy (Accreditation Council of Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) approved OT program)

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $60.00 - $60.00 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
