JOB MISSION:

The Director of Quality Assurance will oversee the QA department, ensuring the highest standards of quality across all IT products and services. This role involves strategic planning, process improvement, and team leadership to drive quality initiatives and ensure timely and efficient delivery of high-quality products. Initially, the focus will be on taking inventory of the different QA teams and services throughout the application portfolio and product agile process, consolidating and centralizing them under one unified leader.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Construct and organize a multi-tiered team system to align with the organization's global expansion, platform modernization, and business transformation efforts.

  • Continuously refine and improve QA strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure product quality and compliance in IT engineering.

  • Modernize the QA technology stack, emphasizing test automation, performance testing, and continuous testing integration.

  • Expand the internal QA team to support business growth, ensuring the team has the skills and resources to meet increasing demands and maintain quality standards.

  • Develop and maintain a network of external vendors to support staff augmentation and manage burst capacity effectively.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT engineering, Product, Project Management, and Business Change teams, to integrate quality standards into all stages of the product lifecycle.

  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to quality standards.

  • Stay current with innovation, industry trends, and best practices to continuously improve QA processes.

  • Lead the adoption of next-generation testing frameworks, focusing on AI-driven testing, predictive analytics, and real-time monitoring.

  • Develop robust test data management and synthetic data generation capabilities to support comprehensive and efficient testing.

  • Define and track global quality metrics, ensuring consistency and visibility across regions.

  • Prepare and present quality reports to senior management and stakeholders.

  • Create governance frameworks for test environment management and release quality gates, ensuring only high-quality releases reach production.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCCESS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Quality Management, or a related discipline).

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in quality assurance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within IT engineering.

  • Extensive experience in leading QA for large-scale SaaS platforms with high availability and performance requirements.

  • Proven expertise in modern QA practices, including test automation, performance testing, continuous testing, and integration testing strategies.

  • Experience with AI-driven testing frameworks, predictive analytics, and advanced performance monitoring tools is a plus.

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, working with engineering, product management, and operations teams.

  • Proven experience establishing Centers of Excellence (CoE) for QA and fostering global knowledge sharing and innovation.

  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience implementing governance frameworks for release management and quality assurance milestones.

  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and their integration with QA processes.

Flexible Work Schedule

For decades we have fostered a unique culture founded on our values with a particular focus on in-person teamwork and collaboration. Our North American hybrid model encourages rich in-person experiences, showcasing our commitment to teamwork and connection, while maintaining flexibility for associates. New Balance Associates currently work in office three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Our offices are fully open, and amenities are available across our North American office locations. To continue our focus on hybrid work we have introduced "Work from Anywhere" (WFA) for four weeks per calendar year. This model will help us enhance our culture while continuing to maintain elements of flexibility.
