Job Summary

The Commercial Auto Insurance Product Management Senior Manager, leading the Auto Line of Business, is responsible for Commercial Auto country-wide Profit and Loss (P/L) performance. The role achieves underwriting profit and growth objectives through product, pricing, underwriting, and other actions in close partnerships with cross-functional team members. The role works cross-functionally to guide products from conception to launch by connecting the technical and business worlds and engage with clients to maximize value delivery and resolve ambiguity, breaking down complex problems into steps that drive product development within an agile framework. The role also ensures that product features drive positive business value, while maintaining velocity with high levels of quality.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Leads a team for the Commercial Auto line of business and collaborates with cross-functional teams such as Underwriting, Actuarial, User Research, UX Design, Claims, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations to deliver high impact products.
  • Owns Profit and Loss accountability for the Commercial Auto line of business. Reports Profit and Loss growth performance results of Commercial Auto to key stakeholders.
  • Achieves underwriting profit and growth objectives through product, pricing, underwriting, and other actions in close partnership with cross-functional team members.
  • Collaborates with the senior leadership team and key stakeholders to develop a multi-year customer-centric product strategy for Commercial Auto
  • Leads the development and innovation of insurance products from concept to launch and gets involved in collaborating with cross-functional teams, conducting market research, designing product features and pricing, managing regulatory compliance, coordinating product testing, and overseeing product documentation.
  • Recommends and negotiates improvements or changes in the overall process design or systems design.
  • Monitors and analyzes the performance of Commercial Auto in the market, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Identifies market opportunities, defines product vision and strategy, and demonstrates track record of delivering exceptional results, with an ability to speak to process improvements and specific results achieved.
  • Demonstrates excellent problem-solving abilities, in a practical way, to balance between addressing root cause and introducing changes in fast order.
  • Sets clear product strategies for Commercial Auto, to ensure development of products which are aligned with target market, value added strategy and create a competitive advantage to drive growth.
  • Leads the research and analysis of system issues to identify root cause, thereby developing subject matter expertise.
  • Monitors system controls and processes to ensure smooth operations by providing team with direction in meeting business expectations, timely resolution of reported issues and appropriate escalation paths.
  • Accountable for talent management and navigation of employee related issues that impact morale and work environment to ensure a high performing team. Responsibilities may include hiring and selection, succession planning, performance and compensation management, and employee development and career coaching. Manages priorities and workload distribution and removes barriers that impede progress.

Job Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in Insurance Product Management or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or any relevant field and/or commensurate experience. Master's degree in management or technical field is preferred.
  • 2+ Years in Auto Product Management (Commercial or Personal Lines) is preferred

Licenses and Certifications:

Certified Product Manager (CPM) (Preferred)

Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) (Preferred)

Location

Hybrid defined as three or more days per week in the office.
