Job Description

The Logistics Intern, reporting to the Logistics Manager of Domestic Transportation, will play a key role in analyzing data, optimizing transportation network , and supporting our transportation systems to ensure the efficient and cost-effective movement of goods. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, identify data-driven insights, and reinforce strategies to improve overall logistics cost and supply chain performance.

This internship will be located in our Milwaukee, WI Headquarters.

Key Accountabilities

  • Maintains the highest level code of conduct and ethics.

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to help drive continuous improvement that maximizes the value of Zurn Elkay's transportation management system (TMS)

  • Track and report on fuel and market data trends using tools such as DAT, EIA, and JOC, providing insights and expectations for various market segments.

  • Maintain and update carrier contact master records, consolidating and refreshing outdated records to ensure a single, reliable source of data.

  • Develop and implement a standard operating procedure (SOP) and template for tracking prospective carriers

  • Manage the Certificate of Insurance (COI) process for carriers, including updates in DAT, validation of dates, and establishment of a monitoring process to ensure compliance and accuracy.

  • Ad-hoc projects as defined.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in a related field (Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business).

  • Proficiency in MS Office. Advanced Excel proficiency preferred

  • Communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

  • Ability to work full time (40 hours) during the Summer
