What You'll Do in This Position

Perform moderately complex rigging operations and scaffold erection. Assists Senior Rigger with complex rigging tasks including critical lifts. With three years experience in the rigging field, may act as Person in Charge (PIC) of non-critical lifts. Attends classroom, on-the-job, and other types of training as deemed necessary by line management.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Work from approved standard and special procedures, verbal instructions, and work orders. Perform simple or routine rigging activities based on skills and knowledge attained from training and previous experience.

Perform prior to use rigging tackle and hardware inspections.

Use hand signals to direct crane operators during lifting operations.

Calculate sling loads.

Calculate load weights using various methods.

Perform hoisting and rigging operations using vertical, bridle, choker, or basket hitches.

Perform rigging operations using tackle, knots, chokers, slings, wire rope, fiber rope, shackles, rings, wire rope clamps, eyebolts, hoist rings, turnbuckles, and hooks.

Design and erect scaffolding up to 30 feet in height.

Perform loading and tie down operations.

Inspect cribbing and shoring.

Be aware of critical lift criteria and critical lift requirements.

Perform rigging operations using jacks, rollers, and cribbing.

Perform overhead and gantry crane equipment rigging operations including traveling with a load.

Perform pendent controlled hoist/crane operations including traveling with a load.

Perform mobile crane rigging operations including use of load rating charts and traveling with a load. Properly secure a boom for windstorms or severe weather.

Perform load testing using load-indicating devices.

Inspect special hoisting and rigging equipment.

Perform administrative functions such as read and understand manuals and procedures.

Other administrative functions as needed to perform job.

Other duties as assigned by supervision.

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance. This list of factors is not exhaustive; pre-employment information and security clearance requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Qualifications We Require

High School Diploma, GED, or other equivalent State Credential. Must have a valid state driver's license. Candidate must have completed ACT WorkKeys skill assessment and achieved minimum scores for Level 3 in Applied Math, Level 3 in Graphic Literacy, Level 4 in Workplace Documents and Level 2 in Workplace Observation. Test scores must be within the last five years. Official transcripts must be provided to the company for consideration of employment.

Other Qualifications

Must be able to work rotating shifts. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Q clearance.

Qualifications We Desire

Must have prior rigging experience.
