Summary

The Software Engineer is responsible for leading complex development efforts and mentoring technical teams. They take ownership of system architecture, ensuring high-quality software solutions and fostering a culture of technical excellence. They play a key role in designing and optimizing both new and legacy systems. They collaborate regularly across disciplines and can communicate technical decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. They take great pride in delivering high-quality software solutions to Summit's members and exceptional service to their co-workers.

Capability Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Five or more years of relevant professional experience; or combination of applicable work experience and education
  • Expertise in full-stack development with proficiency in advanced backend frameworks.
  • Extensive experience with cloud-based architectures and microservices.
  • Strong experience in Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and best security practices.
  • Expertise in data management tools and security-focused development.
  • Advanced use of AI-driven tools for optimization and testing.
  • Leadership skills to influence engineering decisions and foster collaboration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • May require occasional work outside standard hours, including overnight for some software engineers.

  • Physical Demands of Position: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to sit, stand and walk, use hands and fingers. The employee occasionally must reach above and below shoulder level, and lift/push/pull and /or carry up to 10 pounds.
