Public Safety Communications Supervisor - 2 Openings Job ID: 321139 Location: District Support Services Cntr Full/Part Time: Full Time Regular/Temporary: Regular Hourly Rate $28.38 - $36.89 per hour Grade 116 Work Schedule The Maricopa Community Colleges Police Department operates 24 hours per day, seven (7) days per week, 365 days per year. Schedules include rotating shift work, nights, weekends, holidays, or otherwise non-standard work schedules. Mandatory overtime and on-call work are required to perform the essential functions of this classification. The Maricopa Community Colleges Police Department is seeking two (2) motivational and effective leaders for a Public Safety Communications Supervisor. This opportunity is a first-line supervisor for the District Police Communications & Records Bureau. The supervisor will oversee day to day operations of the MCCCD Police Communications Center on an assigned shift and is charged with supervising, training, and evaluating assigned Communications Specialists. This opportunity is also responsible for maintaining a functional working knowledge of the District Police Communications & Records Bureau. Make a difference with Maricopa Community Colleges Police Department! Essential Functions 35% - Supervises full-time regular staff within the District Police Emergency Communications Center:
30% - Plans, prioritizes and oversees the delivery of emergency communications and dispatch functions:
25% - Makes recommendations for improved processes and procedures:
10% - Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED and three (3) years of work experience in a police communications environment, which includes experience performing the work of a police or emergency communications dispatcher for a municipal organization or an organization contracted to provide police dispatch services for a municipal organization. There is no substitution or equivalency allowable for the High School Diploma or GED or for the three (3) years of required experience. Desired Qualifications A. 2 or more years prior law enforcement dispatch supervisory experience B. Police Records Management System (RMS) experience C. Experience within a police records unit D. Experience within a police property & evidence unit E. Police Records Management System (RMS) experience Special Working Conditions Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D Driver's License. Possession of a current AZDPS TOC certification or ability to obtain one within the first 30 days. Must successfully pass comprehensive background check and may be required to submit to periodic comprehensive background checks.
