PEMEX Deer Park is a highly complex refinery located 18 miles east of Houston in Deer Park, TX. It is part of the Pemex group, a fully integrated oil company in the Americas, working across the entire value chain: exploration, production, industrial processing/refining, logistics, and marketing. The refinery’s rated capacity is 340,000 barrels per day, and it has the feed flexibility to process multiple grades of crudes to produce the high-quality transportation fuels the world needs. The Pemex site is co-located with other 3rd party chemical facilities, allowing for further integration and optimization of the refinery and its products. As the Central Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering and ensuring the execution of maintenance activities across multiple operational areas, including Automotive/Garage/Dispatch, Heavy Equipment Operations (HEO), Roads, Walks, and Grounds (RWG), Machine Shop, and Weld Shop. You will manage preventative and reactive maintenance for Refinery and Chemical vehicle assets, including maintenance support equipment such as cranes, and oversee site fueling and bicycle distribution/repairs. You will allocate maintenance and fueling costs to asset owners/users and coordinate dispatch services for equipment movement, ensuring compliance with insurance policies for offsite drivers and vehicles. You will lead crane and rigging deployment, acting as the site lifting subject matter expert to achieve goal zero performance in all lifts. You will maintain site infrastructure, including buildings, roads, vegetation, and industrial services. In the Machine Shop, you will oversee repairs, ensure adherence to the MOC process, and balance internal and external workloads for cost-effective, quality repairs. You will manage all site welding needs, coordinate field and shop work, and optimize contractor resources. Additionally, you will ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of both daily maintenance schedules and emergent maintenance activities.

 

To succeed in the Central Maintenance Supervisor position, you must have:

  • Technical degree preferred, with a background in Maintenance, Production, or Construction Execution.
  • 10+ years of experience in Maintenance execution in a Refinery, Chemical plant, or similar asset.
  • Proficiency in SAP and maintenance management systems.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills with a proven ability to manage and develop teams.
  • Prior experience supervising an industrial-represented workforce is preferred.

 

As a Central Maintenance Supervisor, you will

Lead a team of six direct reports, including Maintenance Team Leads and a Lifting Specialist, while overseeing a workforce of 25+ Pemex crafts and 100+ contractor support crafts. You will play a key role in the Maintenance Leadership team, collaborating to establish consistent direction and best practices across the six Maintenance areas within the Pemex Deer Park Refinery. You must demonstrate strong leadership, adaptability, and communication skills while engaging with stakeholders to drive alignment and operational excellence.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Accountable for managing a direct staff of 6 along with 125+ company and contractor crafts.
  • Oversee and manage a $25MM+ annual maintenance and services spend and a $15MM+ direct operating budget.
  • Serve as the main focal point for interactions with Unit production managers, Field Maintenance Supervisors, OMCs, and other stakeholders to execute assigned maintenance responsibilities.
  • Lead multi-discipline teams in scoping, planning, and executing field maintenance activities while ensuring resource optimization amongst peer Maintenance Supervisors.
  • Ensure compliance with all activities, including tracking and meeting monthly performance metrics, managing the Zone Store for material stock, and overseeing quality assurance with external service facilities.
