SEI is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with a strong background in Infrastructure (Linux+Windows) Architecture, Support, Automation, Problem Solving, Project Management, Infrastructure Lifecycle management and day to day support across wide range of technologies. This is hands-on technical role and you should have strong emphasis on automating manual and repetitive tasks. What you will do: * Build, provision and maintain Linux Operating system on bare-metal Cisco UCS blades for Oracle RAC infrastructure. * Deploy and Manage Linux & Windows operating system hosts on VMware and RHV/OVM/oVirt/KVM infrastructure. * Deploy VMs on cloud infrastructure like OCI/Azure and apply SEI compliance & hardening customizations. * Create Terraform Code to deploy VMs and application in OCI/Azure/AWS cloud and on-prem VMWare/KVM environment * Design, implement and manage the lifecycle of automation/orchestration software like Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, Gitlab * Strong automation expertise with scripting languages like bash, perl, Ansible, Python * Act as last level of escalation on the Technical services team for all System related issues * Work with other infrastructure engineers to resolve Networking and Storage subsystem related issues * Analyze production environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement * Ensure that the operating system adheres to SEI security and compliance requirements * Monitor the infrastructure and respond to alerts and automate monitoring tools What we need from you: * Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science in related discipline or equivalent work experience. * A minimum of 5 years supporting multiple environments such as production, pre-production and development. * This role is a very hands-on role with shell, Python scripting and automation of Infrastructure using Ansible and Terraform. * Working experience with Git for code management and follow the DevOps principles. * Follow the infrastructure as code principal and develop an automation to daily and repeatable setup and configuration. * Install and configure Linux on UCS blades, VMware, KVM/oVirt based virtualization platforms * Bare metal installation of UCS nodes and good understanding in finding hardware related issues and work with datacenter team to address them * Good Understanding of TCP/IP stack, Network vlans, subnets and troubleshoot firewall, network issues occur in environment and work with network team to resolve them * Good understanding on SAN and NAS environment with multipath/powerpath support. * Support ORACLE Database RAC environment. * Work with L1 and L2 teams to troubleshoot an operating system and application related issues. * Manage internal SLAs to ensure the delivery, availability and management of infrastructure. * Available for on call rotation and weekend support. * Must have strong team focus and client service work ethic. * Ability to work independently and resolve complex technical issues and identify root cause and recommend solutions to help resolve incidents quickly. * Maintain automated master Linux Inventory, patch/kernel versions, etc. * Maintain OS Patch repository (Yum Repo) for cloud Linux VM's * Provide and/or Perform OS Patching and maintenance. * Provide and/or Perform System Hardening and Configuration management. * Participate and contribute to DR recovery at secondary data center * Keep security vulnerabilities under control through periodic patching and hardening process. * Design and follow systems and networking best-practices. * Demonstrate project leadership to drive projects to completion by collaborating with Middleware admins, DBA and architecture teams. * Good understanding on Public cloud like OCI, Azure or AWS. Design infrastructure across different availability zones and regions. * Working knowledge on VNETs/VPCs and access controls between different subnets. * Good understanding on Storage accounts, shared file systems in public cloud * Follow proper change control procedures for changes in environment What we would like from you: * A fast learner with ability to dive into new products and technologies, develop subject matter expertise, take ownership and drive projects to completion. * A hands-on team player with good written and verbal communication skills that can mentor other members in the production support group. * Ability to work collaboratively be able to provide direction and assistance with diagnostics and troubleshooting using critical problem-solving techniques. * Strong team focus and client service work ethic. * Someone who will embody our SEI Values of courage, integrity, collaboration, inclusion, connection and fun.
