DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will engage in regular manual tasks within public institutional facilities and their adjacent areas. Your responsibilities will encompass utilizing custodial materials and contemporary cleaning tools, which may require the relocation and lifting of substantial furniture. The work follows a defined routine and is subject to evaluation to ensure cleanliness standards are upheld. This role is suited for an individual who is enthusiastic and efficient, taking pride in maintaining cleanliness and assisting others. Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment, 37.5 hour work week
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, rotating days and weekends, with a 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Work experience as a custodian, janitor, or cleaning person, in an assisted living facility, nursing home, or hospital is preferred. (Experience might include such things as cleaning restrooms; cleaning resident rooms, offices or public areas; mopping, scrubbing, dusting, sweeping, buffing, etc.)
- Work experience interacting with patients or residents while cleaning in patient/resident rooms or a dining room setting.
- Work experience cleaning bodily fluids and disposing infectious waste into proper storage areas.
- Work experience removing snow, trash and debris from sidewalks and entrance ways.
- Work experience using and mixing chemicals or solvents.
- Work experience using manual or power equipment to mop, scrub, sweep, strip, wax, and buff floors.
- Custodial work experience in an activity/recreation room, bathroom/shower or bathing room, cafeteria/dining room setting, entranceway/lobby/common space, nursing station, patient/resident rooms, pharmacy, physical therapy rooms, etc.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
