THE POSITION

In this vital role, you will provide essential custodial and housekeeping services to maintain the smooth operation of Danville State Hospital. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will be responsible for managing the basic housekeeping tasks within designated areas of the hospital. Your work will contribute to the hospital's goal of ensuring a clean, comfortable, and sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Duties include assisting with the pickup and delivery of laundry items, cleaning and wiping surfaces, removing trash and debris, maintaining floors and walls, and replacing light bulbs to uphold a healthy, safe, and aesthetically pleasing environment. You will also maintain outdoor areas, including sweeping and washing steps, docks, and entranceways, as well as performing snow removal. Various housekeeping equipment, such as sweepers, vacuums, scrubbers, floor buffers, and power washers, will be operated.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM, with every other weekend off and a 30-minute lunch.
  • Overtime: As needed
  • May change based on operational needs.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
