Contributes to the achievement of the claim objectives of the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) through effective participation in the development of policies, procedures, programs and Claim personnel. Contributes to efficient, qualitative field claim processing by providing timely and sound advice, counsel and expertise. Effectively interfaces with internal and external contacts to assure claim operations are properly integrated with Sentry general operations. Provides feedback and recommendations to Director.

This position will be seated in our Nashville, TN office, Stevens Point, WI Office, or Goldsboro, NC office locations under a hybrid work model.

What You'll Do:

As an SIU Manager, you will contribute to the achievement of the claims objectives of the Special Investigations Unit through effective participation in the development of policies, procedure, programs, and Claims personnel. In addition, you will...

  • Implement and monitor SIU procedures and programs in assigned area of operations

  • Investigate suspicious activity of the highest level of technical complexity and coordination

  • Recommend approval, compromise, or denial of involved claims

  • Obtain, evaluate, and act on information received from law enforcement agencies and other insurance companies concerning suspicious claims and/or related loss information

  • Develop training programs for all lines of coverage, and identify training needs to ensure the content of training programs and materials is accurate and properly conveys corporate SIU policies and procedures

  • Maintain close working relationship with Claim Center operations in assigned area to adequately provide technical support, training and development, research, advice, and counsel

  • Supervise assigned staff and administer human resource-related activities including timely performance and salary reviews, and ensure all adhere to human resource policies and practices.

What it Takes:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience, degree in police Administration, Police Science, or Criminal Justice Preferred

  • 5+ years of related work experience

  • Technical Expertise in SIU claims policies and practices as well as insurance products, developed through extensive SIUI claim experience

  • Knowledge of state requirements for qualification for SIU investigators, as well as experience in the analysis of claim files to identify fraudulent behavior

  • Strong investigative skills, prosecution preparation knowledge, and the ability to interact with law enforcement agencies

  • Success insurance claim handling and teaching/training background are beneficial, prior management experience is preferred

  • Effective human relations and communications skills

  • Computer Literacy
