SmithGroupis looking for anExperiential Graphic Designerto join our team. The ideal candidate can work remotely or in any SmithGroup office.

As anExperiential Graphic Designer, you'll lead the design and development of thoughtful experiential graphics and signage programs. From concept to execution, you'll manage multiple projects, build strong client relationships, and stay ahead of industry trends. Your ability to craft compelling visual narratives will drive our design solutions, ensuring each project is impactful and meaningful.

Working with us you will:



  • Lead the development of design and brand strategies through research, experience mapping, user journeys, and visioning sessions.
  • Oversee the design, development, and execution of experiential graphics and signage projects.
  • Present concepts clearly and effectively, both visually and verbally.
  • Produce detailed documentation, including location plans, message schedules, elevations, and drawing packages.
  • Manage construction administration, coordinating with fabricators, responding to RFIs, and ensuring installation quality.
  • Collaborate with the Director and/or Project Manager to define scopes of work, manage budgets, allocate staffing, and maintain project schedules.
  • Cultivate relationships with key internal stakeholders and clients, ensuring strong partnerships.
  • Mentor junior designers, providing guidance and support on projects.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in experiential graphic design.



An ideal candidate has:



  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Interior Design, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in experiential graphic design, signage, and wayfinding.
  • Experienced in preparing detailed drawing packages for EGD and Signage projects.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Strong storytelling and presentation skills in both verbal and visual formats.
  • Knowledge of materials, fabrication methods, and ADA compliance (sustainable materials are a plus!).
  • Adaptability to new design software as needed.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, CADTools, Sketchup/Rhino/other 3D modeling software, and Enscape.
  • Working knowledge of Revit, BIM 360, and Bluebeam for coordination of locations, elevations, and views.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of current trends and technologies in experiential graphic design
  • Additional skills such as hand sketching, animation, or illustration are a plus!

While we may ultimately pay more or less than a posted salary range, at the time of posting the anticipated salary range for this position is $86,000 to $122,000 annually and you are eligible for a performance-based bonus each year.The anticipated range encompasses all geographic locations.
