TSC is seeking a Intermediate Mission Engineer in Dahlgren, VA. This position supports the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD), V Department

This position requires a flexible individual with experience performing system integration activities to ensure required amphibious navigation system alterations and upgrades are identified, properly integrated, and meet the design and installation requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide requirements engineering support to system level requirements (Element Specification) development activities for ABMD baselines and capabilities.
  • Participate in the development of ABMD system specifications and the flow down of BMDS requirements into future Element Specification (ES). Ensure rigorous system engineering processes are followed in accordance with the ABMD Systems Engineering Plan, during the requirements development phase of the program.Ensure BMDS requirements state the correct Government Need level for the applicable system or update.
  • Support the development of the ABMD system level requirements by submitting new requirements, participating in investigating requirements, and reviewing and commenting on requirements submitted by other organizations.
  • Perform traceability of requirements from system level requirements down to design requirements in accordance with the Ballistic Missile Defense System Requirements Traceability Handbook.
  • Perform traceability of any Technical Core Standards to include accuracy, applicability, and version currency.
  • Provide technical assessment of requirements across multiple ABMD baselines, including requirements trace effort in DOORS. Support NSWCDD's activities for ABMD requirements development as part of the Specification Change Notice - Development Working Groups (SCN DWG), Requirements Working Group (RWG), and various Integrated Product Teams (IPT's).
  • Experience in requirement development and management.
  • Experience in Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirement System (DOORS).
  • Knowledge of Naval Surface Combat System design and performance, preferably Aegis BMD or AEGIS.
  • Experience in applying system engineering processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Seven (7) years of General Surface Navy Combat Systems engineering experience with five (5) years of specialized experience in requirements engineering
  • Current DoD Secret clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Applicants should be detail oriented, highly organized with the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
