JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

To best serve the student community and provide enriching opportunities, the Office of Student Engagement is seeking part-time graduate students to support, enhance and further develop our mission and vision.

This part-time employee will help to provide support and enhance the following:
  • The mission of the Office of Student Engagement is to support exceptional co-curricular events, opportunities, and experiences for our diverse student community.
  • The vision of our university is to recognize educational excellence and programs that enhance student learning communities; by providing opportunities for our students to develop through top-notch cultural, educational, and social programing.
General Needs

The Office of Student Engagement is seeking a part-time student employee who can begin training/employment in the Spring of 2025. This individual will help to support leadership regarding policy, procedures, and financial responsibility regarding the Student Activity Fee (SAF) and the Student Facility Fee (SFF) and reports to the Student Fee Staff.

Job Duties Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Evaluating Student Initiated Fee proposals.
  • Financial record keeping.
  • Providing leadership to students and organizations regarding Student Fee procedures.
  • Fall/Spring SIF leadership orientation and Weekly SIF meetings will be required.
Student Initiated Fee Specialist Responsibilities Include:
  • Going over Proposals before the Allocation Committee does to ensure accuracy.
  • Uploading documents and communicating through SharePoint and Teams.
  • Checking the SIF Engage page for multiple form submissions and attendance lists.
  • Keeping track of purchases and organizing files.
  • Emailing students, staff, and faculty with any updates, questions or concerns.
  • Attend mandatory SIF Committee meetings on Fridays while potentially having allocation meetings throughout the work week.
  • Ensuring the Red List is up to date.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • To be considered for this opening, the successful candidate must be enrolled at Penn State Harrisburg for Fall 2025 and Spring 2026, must be in good disciplinary standing with the university.
  • Experience with Excel is preferred.
  • Time management skills
  • Good written & verbal communication skills.
