ABOUT YOUR ROLE

The Senior Accountant -- Management Reporting assists the Management Reporting Manager to ensure the accuracy and completeness of internal financial reporting in accordance with GAAP, regulatory requirements and internally established accounting policies and practices. Responsibilities include analyzing trends, costs, revenues and financial results and offer interpretation and suggestions on data, resource utilization and assumptions used.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
1. Timely and accurately prepare financial statements in accordance with established accounting policies and practices.
2. Provides management assurance that adequate records and controls are maintained for all assets, liabilities, and transactions according to generally accepted accounting principles.
3. Coordinates the processing of monthly journal entries from various areas of the bank to facilitate reporting period close.
4. Responsible for systematic processing of prepaid, accruals, fixed assets and monthly accounting entries.
5. Acts as resource/support for various assigned bank/general ledger reconciliations and adjustments regarding research issues and questions.
6. Analyzes monthly results including researching unusual activity to ensure accuracy and validity in reporting.
7. Performs variance analysis to prior periods and budget.
8. Assists auditors in their facilitation of audit procedures.
9. Prepares monthly financial board presentation requirements.
10. Prepares monthly federal, state and local tax provision entries
11. Assists external consulting firm with deferred tax calculation and accurate recording of tax transactions related to acquisitions.
12. Performs various accounting record keeping re: equity and tax roll forward and stock transactions.
13. Facilitates and documents the accurate transition of acquired banks' accruals and capitalized assets.
14. Maintains and updates policies and procedures.

WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU


  • Thorough knowledge of current accounting concepts, practices, and procedures, along with very strong analytical and technical skills with superior aptitude for figures.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (advanced Excel skills) with a working knowledge of automated financial software packages (experience in Workiva and Prologue general ledger is a plus)
  • Relies on operational and strategic experience to plan and accomplish tasks.
  • Ability to perform a variety of complicated tasks on an independent basis.



YOUR QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with a concentration in Accounting.
  • Minimum of 3-6 years of experience in the field or in a related area.



INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL CONTACTS


  • Internal contact with department and senior managers on capital expenditures and other projects.
  • External contacts are occasional and include brokers and consultants.



WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Office environment. Ability to operate computer. Ability to communicate in order to exchange simple to complex information with individuals and groups. Ability to travel throughout Bank footprint.
