Job Duties
Qualifications The incumbent will hold a degree from an accredited nursing school, preferably a Bachelor of Nursing, and will have 3-5 years of Clinical Nursing experience. Occupational health and safety experience and OSHA training preferred. Prior experience with Texas Workers Compensation case management and claims management recommended. The incumbent must also have a current registered nursing license in the state of Texas. The incumbent must have the ability to analyze and make sound judgements to accurately document and maintain appropriate confidentiality of medical records. Should have the ability to communicate effectively with employees, physicians/medical professionals, and other outside parties. Knowledge of state and federal laws related to Worker's Compensation, and legislation regarding confidentiality. Must be proficient in the use of personal computers and at least an intermediate skill level in Microsoft Word PowerPoint, and Excel. The incumbent must have excellent written communication skills and will be expected to document decision, agreements, and orders made. This position is responsible for implementing and evaluating strategies to facilitate maximum medical improvement for employees to return to work when possible and then establishes case-specific target return-to-work dates. Participate in applicable safety meetings and investigations. Report and correct all unsafe conditions immediately. Participate in Safety Hour activities and corporate safety initiatives.
