Position Highlights Performing higher skilled equipment operations such as Lasering leveling, GPS guided listing equipment, heavy equipment operation experience, and precise handling of cultivation equipment. The employee will be performing delicate and precise operations for the successful conditioning of soil, planting precision, and delicate cultivating operations. Position will be expected to work over weekends.

Duties & Responsibilities

Land preparation -
Ability to set heavy equipment for proper handling of soil such as deep
chiseling, ripping, disking, plowing, and land leveling and operating heavy
agricultural equipment. Employee will have to be able to understand and operate
sophisticated lasering leveling equipment such as infrared lasers, laser
transmitters, and receivers; Listing beds in preparation for planting a variety
of crops - Listing beds requires operation of tractors with sophisticated
equipment such as computerized GPS systems for automated tractor guidance.
Employee will be responsible for monitoring, setting, and performing the
special listing operations to achieve perfect straight rows; Cultivation
Practices - Employee will be familiar with the variety of cultivating equipment
for specific crops and Employee will also be responsible for setting
cultivation equipment for precise
applications. Both Tractor and cultivating equipment will
need to be synchronized for precise work.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift/transport up to 50 lbs
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with irrigation practices such as sprinkler, furrow and drip irrigation.
  • Experience performing higher skilled equipment operations such as Lasering leveling, GPS guided listing equipment, heavy equipment operation experience, and precise handling of cultivation equipment.
  • Experience performing delicate and precise operations for the successful conditioning of soil, planting precision, and delicate cultivating operations.
