We are seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead and coordinate maintenance activities, ensuring that our production equipment and facilities operate at peak efficiency. This role is vital in keeping our operations running smoothly while maintaining ProWood's commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and coordination of the maintenance department at ProWood's Tampa, FL facility. This position ensures that all machinery, tools, and buildings are properly maintained to support efficient production. The role involves leading maintenance personnel, implementing preventative maintenance programs, and upholding ProWood's high safety and operational standards.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead and Develop Maintenance Team:

    • Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring maintenance personnel.

    • Train, coach, and evaluate maintenance employees, providing guidance and feedback.

    • Enforce company policies and administer disciplinary actions as needed.

  • Maintenance Operations & Equipment Reliability:

    • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to ensure ProWood's equipment operates efficiently.

    • Perform and oversee routine maintenance on pressure-treatment systems, saws, conveyors, fence panel machines and other facility equipment.

    • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems to minimize downtime.

    • Ensure compliance with AWPA treatment standards and company quality expectations.

    • Maintain records of maintenance activities in line with company policies and industry best practices.

Safety & Compliance:
  • Lead employees in continuous improvement and safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with company and OSHA regulations.

  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and resolve potential hazards in machinery and the work environment.

  • Ensure proper handling and storage of chemicals and hazardous materials used in the treatment process.

Coordination & Resource Management:

  • Work closely with plant leadership to align maintenance activities with production goals.

  • Order necessary supplies, tools, and parts while ensuring cost-effective procurement.

  • Track and report maintenance metrics, providing insights for operational improvement.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:
  • Post-high school education required (technical degree preferred).

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish preferred).

  • 3-5 years of experience in machine repair and maintenance (preferably in wood treatment, lumber, or manufacturing).

  • 1-3 years of experience managing a maintenance team.

  • Strong working knowledge of pressure-treatment systems, electrical, hydraulic, and control technology, and welding.

  • Familiarity with safe equipment practices, OSHA regulations, and AWPA treatment standards.

  • Experience handling hazardous materials and chemical processes in a production environment.

  • Proficiency with precision tools, measuring instruments, and industrial hand tools.

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and maintenance tracking software.

  • Ability to work in an industrial environment, including exposure to outdoor elements and physical labor as needed.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
